This month Asher was given a name and a blessing at church.
We're grateful grandparents, cousins, and other family and friends could join us for his special day. We only got a few pictures before church. I wish we had some with my mom and his other cousins, family, and friends. But there was a lot of food to eat afterwards and that trumps pictures...plus Asher fell asleep for 3 hours after church. We are still floored that babies actually do that. Had I not burned all those sleep books, I could refer back to them. Instead I think I'll just enjoy.
My friend put it best when she visited me this past week. "So, you're basically just a body guard all day for Asher?" Indeed I am. Lizzie, especially, cannot leave the little fella alone. Everything from kisses to head butts constitute love in her mind.
He was fascinated watching Samara's dance rehearsal.
He's discovered his hands.
I'm so grateful for Asher. As I've been going through the loss of a loved one, Asher's sweet and calm presence has been a constant reminder that our spirits are eternal. I'm thankful to know that Asher's birth wasn't the beginning of his existence and that death didn't end my brother-in-law's.
Love Love Love these pictures and your words! Especially the last part. And I'm so glad you got a baby who sleeps sometimes! :)
ReplyDeleteBurned the sleep books... so funny. I'm so glad you got a sleeper. That's gotta be awesome. I think if I have enough kids, maybe, just maybe one of them will be a sleeper. This last one was as close as I think I'm gonna get!
ReplyDeleteI love that you post a zillion pictures with your posts!
What a handsome guy!! He's a mini-Ben! We must get together for dinner soon!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. I pray that your sister and her kids can find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
My favorite part is that when he smiles he loses his pacifier! That is so so sweet. He loves his mama more than the pacifier!! I love how you didn't get pictures b/c of the FOOD.....priorities right?!! Love this post, love that sweet Asher, I can see why you love him so much....look at his beautiful eyes!
ReplyDeleteHe's such a beautiful boy, Cheryl, and I love what you said about his birth not being his beginning, nor Morgan's death the end. What a blessing it is to know about the Plan of Salvation! We are eternal! And I have a feeling your three little ones have been so cute and so special for a very, very long time.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of the 3 Bikman kids together. Asher's eyes! Unbelievable. Your family is so darling and I love your sweet heart. You put that so nicely.
