The first run down didn't go so great and Samara fussed, "I want my papa to teach me!" She didn't like me controlling her speed, but I had to since she couldn't stop on her own yet. We took a potty and lunch break and once we got back out there, she loved the afternoon. She skied for 2.5 more hours and it was tough to get her to stop. I was beat by the end of the day and don't know how I used to do this day in and day out sometimes for 10 days in a row. I know I should be proud of things like being polite and sharing, but I am still beaming about her skiing so well and enjoying the day so much. She had great balance and coordination.

With the exception of terrain, there is NO resort that compares to Deer Valley's bathrooms, lifts, service, and food. These cookies are reason enough to ski. I LOVE Deer Valley!
Check her out--she is AMAZING!!! Vancouver toddler Olympics 2010 here we come!
I wish I was there! I wish I was there! Of course, I'd have to stick to the little bunny slope too since I've never skiied (sp?) in my life.
ReplyDeleteWe really liked the video.
What the heck?!?! She's better than I was the one time I went skiing. She's the luckiest girl ever.
ReplyDeleteI am beaming with pride, and she's not even my kid!!! What a champ! Cheryl, if you put me on skis, you'd have to ski in front of me too. I'd be a mess on those slops. How I lived in Utah for 20+ years and only went skiing twice, is a mystery to me. I'd love to give it another go!
ReplyDeleteSamara's better than me!!! oKAY, THAT'S NOT SAYING A LOT BUT THAT WAS SO cUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl. Lots of fun to see your fun photos of your skiing adventures...what fun! Brought back many memories of skiing with our children.
ReplyDeleteJust for fun: I have camera bag app for my iphone. It is so much fun. They now make it for mad and pc. 20.00 It imitates old fashioned cameras, lenses, etc. Just a funky fun thing to do. Just posted a second iphone posting. Trying to do one a week, something I do with the crazy apps. www.sharonfurner.com
Those cookies are outrageous! Samara is super cute too - an adorable ski-bunny!
ReplyDeleteSamara is adorable! That's awesome. And look at that amazingly talented chick skiing backwards in front of her. ;) It just doesn't seem right for you of all people to be living so far from the snow.
ReplyDeleteCan I please have one of those monster cookies? Yum!
Way to Goo!! That is great. We are in the 1% as well. Our little booger hits the slope with dad everytime. It's in his blood.
ReplyDeleteoh. my. gosh. that is so dang cute!!!! and i'm so impressed at how good she is. seriously, i have nowhere near that level of coordination skills. the snowsuit was so dang cute. do you think she'd give me skiing lessons?
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so cute I can't stand it. (The video wasn't working just now - I'll have to try it later.).
ReplyDeletePlease tell me you got her some of those adorable red Vancouver 2010 Olympic mittens. She needs them so her style can match her talent.
I just went back and re-read my comment. Okay, so the child already DOES have more style than Coco Chanel. I just love the Olympic mittens is all.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Samara is adorable! I love her hat and mittens!
